OUR MISSION

At T.C. Williams Plaza, our mission is to preserve legacy, build community, and create opportunity.

Located at 635 E. Olney Road, Norfolk, Virginia, this historic property represents more than brick and mortar — it represents generations of hard work, Black excellence, entrepreneurship, and community pride. Founded by Mr. T.C. Williams in 1942, the former dry cleaners stood as a cornerstone of Church Street. Today, we are committed to transforming that legacy into a vibrant mixed-use development that honors the past while building the future.

Our mission is to:

• Preserve the historic significance of Church Street
• Promote local ownership and economic empowerment
• Create retail, residential, and cultural spaces that serve the community
• Partner with Virginia-based businesses and local contractors
• Inspire unity through education, creativity, and entrepreneurship

Through initiatives like Bmoore Buttons, we extend this mission beyond real estate — teaching children and families the power of creativity, confidence, and community pride.

We believe:

The people make the community — not big business.

We are building more than a development.
We are building unity.
We are building legacy.
We are building safe havens for generations to come.

Where History and Imagination Are Sewn Together.
Stories stitched inside a historic dry cleaners… where buttons come alive and community is the true thread that holds everything together.

Planting Seeds

T.C. Williams Plaza Youth Car Wash Program

The T.C. Williams Plaza Youth Car Wash Program is a community-based initiative designed to empower local youth by teaching real-world job skills, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Located in the heart of the community, this program provides young people—especially those from nearby neighborhoods like Young’s Park—with the opportunity to earn income while gaining hands-on experience in customer service, teamwork, and financial literacy.

Participants will operate a hand car wash service, offering quality cleaning for $20 per vehicle. Youth will learn how to:

  • Greet and serve customers professionally

  • Work as a team to efficiently wash and detail cars

  • Manage money and understand basic business operations

  • Build confidence, discipline, and leadership skills

This program is more than just a car wash—it is a fundraiser and workforce development initiative aimed at rebuilding and supporting the growth of T.C. Williams Plaza, “one car wash at a time.”

By supporting this effort, the community is investing in both the future of its youth and the preservation of a historic legacy.

Stop Pushing My Buttons

Inside the historic dry cleaners. Bobby Blue Button and his sister Brenda are always learning life lessons — especially about patience, respect, and sibling love.

When Bobby teases Brenda one too many times, the Button Bunch must remind him what it truly means to “be a button.” Through humor, heart, and teamwork inside the magical button factory, children learn:

• How words affect others
• The importance of kindness
• Family unity
• Self-control and confidence

This playful story teaches that even when someone “pushes your buttons,” you still have the power to choose who you become.

The Magical Button That Saved Christmas

One snowy Christmas night inside the dry cleaners, a snowman is missing a very important button. Without it, he cannot come alive!

When Santa needs help, Bobby Blue Button and the Button Bunch form a ladder of teamwork, courage, and unity to save Christmas. This magical holiday story teaches:

• The power of teamwork
• Community helping community
• Believing in yourself
• The magic of small acts of kindness

Because sometimes the smallest button can make the biggest difference.
